| Bio: | CHARACTER: Name: Dorcas Colleen Falk Age: 23 D.O.B.: October 11th Blood Type: B+ Race: Psychic – Medium Powers: Dorcas is capable of seeing and speaking with spirits of the deceased. She has never tried to summon a spirit or allow them use of her body and really, that last part isn’t even close to appealing to her. She just deals with the spirits around her. Physical Description: Dorcas stands at a rather average 5’ 6” but is about ten pounds lighter in weight than she should be from forgetting to eat. Her hair is naturally brown but she’s dyed it so often and so much she can’t remember her original color. On that note, her hair color changes often depending on her mood. Or really, what she’s mentally dealing with from all the pieces of other peoples lives stuck in her head from the stories of the dead. Her eyes are blue. She has a pierced lip right in the center. She generally wears whatever she wants or feels like (leading back to that other peoples lives thing) ranging from hideous rainbow craziness to cute, simple sundresses. Personality: Dorcas has the bad habit of obsessing over things. If something catches her interest, she's all over it. From research to buying everything she can get about the subject. As a result, she knows hundreds upon thousands of movie quotes, Monty Python sketches, music references, etc. But it isn't just things; it can be people as well... Freshman year in high school, she obsessed over Harpo Marx and as such has a lot of Marx Brothers items. Currently, she’s obsessed with the histories the spirits on Earth have hidden. She’s trying to write a book about the things she’s told by the spirits. She is not one to approach people unless she really has to. That’s mostly because people will often see her “talking to herself” and they already think she’s batshit crazy so she just doesn’t bother with the living. The living have never really been her friends so she doesn’t bother explaining. When she does talk to someone, she is quite nice, even sweet. But this is hampered by the fact that she talks a lot and generally acts very silly. Well, some say silly, others (meaning Dorcas) say witty. She’s generally very afraid of people finding out what she can do; worried they might force her to work horrifying crime scenes or something like that, searching out dead spirits. She has enough strange dreams as it is without adding nightmares like that to them, thanks. Dorcas panics easily. Sexuality: Heterosexual History: Hyacinth Jane Marlow, was raised in Salem, Mass. She was raised in a simple family, went to college, and became a lawyer, in the quickest route possible, forsaking all other goals to get her degrees. Robert Michael Falk, was born in London, England. He attended the same college as Jane, which was how they met. They'd both gone to Harvard Law, Mike just for the opportunity to get to America. They met, they wooed, they moved to Ann Arbor, and married. Dorcas was born to her loving parents, into a perfectly normal family, save for the fact that her parents thought that the name Dorcas, which has not been popular since 1949 was a good idea. Unfortunately, during her growing up, she became rather familiar with the teasing name Dorkus. Her name is one of the reasons she has been put down since first grade. At age 3, Dorcas became the possessor of a little brother named Michael. They were never very close and really, it seemed Michael was the light of the family over Dorcas. Everything he did was perfect in their eyes. He was the All American kid while Dorcas focused on the dark side of world – horror movies, demons, ghosts, psychic powers. She was interested in everything not-normal. Paranormal really. She was six she saw her first spirit but people really just thought she had an imaginary friend. When the friends didn’t go away by the time she hit fifth grade, her parents started getting concerned. They sent her to therapy but nothing ever panned out and she got stuck on anti-depressants despite not being depressed. The only one who seemed to understand what was going on was a sweet old lady in London. Her great grandmother took her in, sent her to school in London for a little while and taught her about her abilities to see the dead. She had never shared anything with the old woman before and suddenly, Great Grandma Ruth was her best friend. At the same time, Ruth impressed old fears upon her and skewed Dorcas’s view of the people around her. Ruth died when Dorcas was seventeen and it was back to the States she went and into American high school. Her life was in total upheaval until she managed to go away to college. She currently attends for parapsychology. Since the Light of May: May 1st made her stomach sink. It was startling to see how many people were actually powered or monsters or whatever the Hell they were calling themselves though she knew they existed. After all, she had Ruth as proof of that. But she could never bring herself to trust others with the knowledge of her psychic abilities. But that may change. Special Skills/Abilities: Plays piano and has a nice singing voice, very good at holding giant stacks of books without dropping them, alright at cooking. Talented at repairing her own clothing and sewing things from patterns. Personal Weaknesses: Anti-social: Outside of dead people, she doesn’t really like socializing. Seriously, she’s just more comfortable around them. And she doesn’t trust anyone with the knowledge of her abilities anyway so any socializing with other psychics is entirely unthinkable. Confused: Dorcas is kind of confused as to who she is on occasion. There’s so much information thrown inside of her head from her eidetic memory that she can’t always sift through it all. She occasionally forgets her own name and gives someone an entirely random name and then never responds to it again. Roach Phobia: From a strange event in her childhood that she can’t remember, she is terrified of roaches. If she sees one, thinks she sees or hears one, she just can’t function anymore. Personal Strengths: Eidetic Memory: Dorcas is generally able to remember the sights, sounds and words of anything she’s ever experienced with extreme accuracy. She’s very good at word jumbles and puzzles. Parapsychology: She’s generally pretty knowledgeable in the field of psychic abilities and, of course, ghosts from her ages and ages of study though she doesn’t put that knowledge into use. It might make people suspicious.
